There are some exciting programs coming up in our Digital Media Labs! Sign up to learn how to digitize your old photos, shoot great video, or find out all about the lab itself.

History of Digital Music Lab

Monday, February 11, 6:00 pm - Teens and Adults
Celebrate Black History Month by exploring the origins of modern popular music genres and techniques through a creative lens. While learning about the artists who have contributed to the popularization of sampled and digital music, attendees will learn the basics of FL Studio in the Digital Media Lab.

Digitizing Your Family History

Henrico County Public Library provides resources for those interested in preserving genealogical information, photos and documents. Join us as we show you the best practiced ways to scan and manage documents.

Video Shooting Basics

Wednesday, February 6, 6:30 pm - Grades 6-12
Wednesday, February 13, 6:30 pm - Adults
Learn about the different types of camera shots used in professional filmmaking you can apply to your own movies. We'll also discuss video shooting tips and tricks to help improve your video productions. Then try out your new knowledge by shooting some video at the library. Video recording devices will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own.

Digitize Your Photos and Home Movies

Preserve your photos and old home movies by digitizing them in the Library's Digital Media Lab. We'll provide instruction on using the photo scanner and VHS cassette converter. Participants are encouraged to bring photos and VHS cassettes.

Come and learn about all our new technology. This quick class will show you the equipment and software available in the Digital Media Lab, such as the Adobe Creative Suite, 3D printing, VHS transfer, podcasting, scanning, and green screens.

Registration required for all programs listed.
