Summer Reading Challenge 2023: All Together Now

SRC2023_blog

Henrico County Public Library’s 2023 Summer Reading challenge, "All Together Now," is all about celebrating kindness, friendship, and unity. During last year’s Summer Reading challenge, the community read nearly 80,000 books. In the spirit of this year’s theme, the library is challenging the community to read 100,000 books together between June 15 and August 15 (pre-registration begins June 1). Read on to learn more about this year's challenge!

Participants can log reading and learning activities either online through the Beanstack app, or via paper log from their library, from June 15 through August 15 to earn prizes along the way. Choose to set your own goals and log your progress with the “Choose Your Own Reading Adventure” program track, or if you prefer a more structured program, sign up for the “Summer Reading Classic Challenge.” For more details and to register for the program, visit henricolibrary.org/summerreading.

However you choose to participate, earn a pencil and bookmark just for signing up, and get automatically entered for weekly gift card drawings when you log your first learning activity online. In July, participants can collect a progress prize - a color-your-own bandana for kids, Rubik's cube for teens, or mug for adults. Children and teen challenge finishers can pick out a new, free book, and adult finishers receive a voucher for a free book from the Friends of the Library Book Sale.

Finishers can also enter to win grand prizes – and the more books and learning you log, the more chances you earn to win! This year’s grand prizes are:

  • Nintendo Switch Mario Choose One Bundle
  • Children's Museum Family Membership
  • Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens Family Membership
  • Science Museum of Virginia Family Membership
  • Brother xr3774 Sewing & Quilting Machine

Summer Reading is sponsored by the Friends of Henrico County Public Library. Follow the library and get updates on the challenge by signing up for its newsletter, visiting the library website, or following @henricolibrary on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
