Summer Reading 2023 starts June 15
This year's theme, "All Together Now", celebrates kindness, friendship, and unity. Join us at the library for this community-wide reading challenge. This summer, we are challenging Henrico to read 100,000 books together!
This year, you can set your own goals and log your progress with our Choose Your Own Reading Adventure program track. If you prefer a more structured program, join our Summer Reading Classic Challenge. You can also participate offline with a paper log, available from your library.
However you choose to participate, earn a pencil and bookmark just for signing up, and get automatically entered for weekly gift card drawings when you log your first learning activity online.
In July, participants can collect a progress prize—a color-your-own bandana for kids, Rubik's cube for teens, or mug for adults. Complete your challenge by August 15 to get a free book and enter our grand prize drawings. Children and teen challenge finishers can pick out a new, free book, and adult finishers receive a voucher for a free book from the Friends of the Library Book Sale.
The more books and learning you log, the more chances you earn to win grand prizes! This year’s grand prizes are:
Nintendo Switch Mario Choose One Bundle
Brother XR3774 Sewing & Quilting Machine
Children's Museum Family Membership
Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens Family Membership
Science Museum of Virginia Family Membership
