Supporting Students and Virtual Learning

HCPL has coordinated with our public schools to support students and their families during the virtual start to the school year. We have pledged to provide educational support to our young people and their families. Through our collaboration with Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS), we have expanded opportunities for ebook access for students, are promoting our new digital cards, and have lots of spaces, including reservable meeting and study rooms, at our many open library locations for educational activities. Read on to learn more about how libraries can help you make the most of virtual learning this school year.

K-Pop Reads

Are you a member of the BTS Army? Do you belong to BLINK? As interest in K-Pop only continues to grow, more and more books are featuring characters chasing their dreams of K-Pop fame. Aspirational young stars have to learn complicated choreography while hitting every note and following strict training regimes. It doesn’t take much to push these teens to their limits. Whether you’re a die-hard K-Pop fan or just dipping your toes into the world of Korean pop, you’ll find plenty to enjoy in these titles.

Crafting your Story

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is an annual creative writing challenge that takes place in November where you have 30 days to write a 50,000 word novel. Writing a novel can be a daunting task, but with the right instruction, you’ll be cranking out your manuscript in no time. Below are some basics of novel writing to help get you started on November 1.
