It’s almost time for our All Henrico Reads event! This year, we are thrilled to host bestselling author Walter Mosley and hear about his recent release Gray Dawn. We hope you will join us on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Henrico Sports & Events Center. Whether this is your first All Henrico Reads or you are a regular attendee, it never hurts to plan ahead. Read on for our top five tips for attending this year’s event.

  1. Planning Your Visit
The location for this year’s All Henrico Reads is the Henrico Sports & Events Center. For details about the venue, check out their frequently asked questions and policies  before you head out. Please note that guests are not allowed to bring in outside food or beverages, although you may bring in a refillable water bottle.

  2. Getting There
The Henrico Sports & Events Center is located at 1 All Star Boulevard, Glen Allen, VA 23059; here are the directions. Once you are near, look for blue signs that say “Henrico Sports & Events Center.”

  3. Parking
Parking is free, but spaces may fill depending on how many people attend the event. The Henrico Sports & Events Center encourages carpooling when possible. ADA Parking is available. This map of the building and parking lots provides a helpful overview.

  4. Auditorium Doors Open at 6 p.m.
The auditorium’s set-up includes a limited number of chairs on the floor in front of the stage, in addition to surrounding bleachers. The Henrico Sports & Events Center includes amenities such as restrooms, water fountains, and vending machines. We invite you to drop by the Friends of Henrico County Public Library tables; the Friends of the Library make this evening possible. Their tables are also where you can enter our prize drawing for a chance to win a door prize, which will be announced at the end of the night.

  5. What to Expect
All Henrico Reads starts at 7 p.m. Walter Mosley's presentation and the moderated discussion will last approximately one hour. Afterwards, he will sign books. Book People will have copies of his books available for purchase before and after the presentation.
