Start Smart: Free Resources for the School Year

If you’re a student or have students in your household, a library card can be a key to successand savings. For families looking for ways to save, a free library card can unlock hundreds of dollars of programs and services to help students succeed. Henrico County Public Library offers many opportunities to support academic success. Free Henrico County Public Library cards are available to residents of Henrico County and, through a reciprocal library system agreement, residents of the City of Richmond and Chesterfield, and Pamunkey Library card holders can also get a free card. In addition to books and media, your Henrico County Public Library card is the key to research and database resources such as Tutor.com. Students can also access Digital Media Labs with the latest software and classes on how to use it. Programs and events range from STEM topics to art classes to career exploration.

With inviting facilities and nine locations, Henrico County Public Libraries are community hubs with comfortable and accessible spaces for studying, either solo or as part of a group (learn more about reserving a room).
