It’s the season of parties, family gatherings, and potlucks! Whether you are cooking for a large group or trying to find a delicious dish to bring to the party, the perfect recipe is waiting in one of our cookbooks.

It is once again time for our Henrico Christmas Mother Book Drive. Henrico Christmas Mother assists families in economic need and of all religious backgrounds at the holiday time. Our Teen Advisory Boards have set up boxes at all Henrico libraries for donations of new or gently used books for children and teens.

As the weather is getting cooler and the days shorter, October is the time to be scared! We have several programs coming up that embrace the spooky, the surreal, and the unknown. Be prepared for chills down your spine!

Cooler weather and shorter days make the fall a great time to settle in with a new mystery series. From delightfully gossipy restaurant owners moonlighting as amateur sleuths, to hardened investigators facing the end of the world, or even a crime-solving furry companion, there is a literary detective for everyone.  

This year over 9,000 people participated and nearly half met their reading goal! That is a lot of reading. We hope you read lots of great books and had fun visiting the library over the past few months. 

The Winners 

There are still three more Naturalization Information Sessions this fall. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will be at Libbie Mill, Varina, and Twin Hickory libraries to present information for legal permanent residents and interested naturalization applicants. The presenter will discuss the naturalization process and test as well as the rights and responsibilities of U.S. citizens.
