Basil and Oregano by Melissa Capriglione

[Insert book cover image here]
When Basil finally gets to the magi-culinary school of her dreams, she also meets her crush, Arabella (Oregano). When they meet, they start to form this strong bond together that solidifies throughout the story. But Xynthia uses a spell that sabotages the other dishes in the final cooking contest by summoning a dragon. Basil and Oregano break the spell by presenting the dragon food and making a bond between it and Oregano. In the end, Basil and Oregano love themselves and each other.
I absolutely love the mix between cooking, romance, and fantasy in the book. I also like how it blends realistic life problems with the storyline. A part I disliked was that in the end, Xynthia just said sorry and they were cool like they were friends! and the part that I disliked the most in that scene is that she didn't even apologize right, cause she was complaining about her own life while saying sorry.
The most memorable part of the book is that when Basil gets down mentally, and then back up again. she also boosts her self confidence throughout the whole book but in that moment, it was there the most.
