Explore April’s Virtual Programs!

We have a bunch of fun programs coming up this April! Test your knowledge at one of our trivia nights, learn about the weather with hands-on experiments, or learn to create audio recordings for music, podcasts, and more. Here are just some of the awesome events coming up this month.

For Kids

Giggle & Gather: New Parent Meet-Up
Tuesday, April 13, 10:30 am
Newborns to 24 months. A meet-up storytime for parents and their babies or toddlers. Learn new songs, listen to a short story, and make new friends. Encourage your child's love of reading while bonding and meeting other new parents!

Pokémon Trivia
Wednesday, April 14, 5:30 pm
Do you how many Pokémon were in the first generation? Or what Squirtle evolves into? We are celebrating Pokémon's 25th anniversary with a few rounds of trivia! Test your Poke-knowledge against other players! Books about Pokémon will be recommended during the event.

Elementary Explorers: Weather
Friday, April 16, 3 pm
Explore some exciting weather-related experiments. During this session we will be making a rain cloud in a jar, a tornado in a bottle, and a simple kite to fly on a windy day. Visit our event listing for a list of suggested supplies.

For Teens

Audio Club
Tuesday, April 27, 7 pm
For teens interested in the production side of audio, from music to podcasting to sound design. Learn techniques and get advice from each other and from library staff. We will feature a different lesson or activity at each meeting.

Let's Create: Springtime Crafts
Thursday, April 29, 7 pm
Draw or use other methods to create spring-themed art with us, along with your favorite springtime beverage and snack of choice. Feel free to ask for tips with any creative outlet or show off works in progress.

For Adults

Having Seen: A Film Discussion Group
Thursday, April 15, 7 pm
Jiro Dreams of Sushi: David Gelb directs this 2012 documentary about 85-year-old Jiro Ono, considered by many to be the world's greatest sushi chef. He is the proprietor of Sukiyabashi Jiro, a 10-seat, sushi-only restaurant inauspiciously located in a Tokyo subway station. Watch Jiro Dreams of Sushi on Hoopla.

Investment Basics
Wednesday, April 21, 6:30 pm
April is Financial Literacy month, the perfect time to learn the fundamentals of investing. This seminar will cover basic principles of investing for people at any stage in life and answer the "what, why, how, and where" of investing. Led by Thomas McGehee Perry of River Hills Wealth Management.

For All Ages

Spring Trivia Night
Thursday, April 22, 6 pm
Celebrate the season of new beginnings with trivia that commemorates both springtime and local activities! This trivia night will be reminiscent of Family Feud and will be held online via Webex.

Be sure to check out our Book Discussions page to see what we are reading and discussing in April, and tune in to Family Storytime on Facebook every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10:30 am and Pajama Storytime every Tuesday at 6:30 pm.
