Fairfield Library through the Years

1-crop

As we prepare for the new Fairfield Library to open, we thought we would take a look back at some of our favorite moments from the old Fairfield Library. Since it opened in 1976, the Fairfield Library has been a vibrant and busy place to be! Here are some of our best photos from the past 43 years.

We’ve checked out lots of books since 1976.

And had lots of special guests, like Babar…

And a bookworm! Can you spot our mobile library?

The craft programs have been so fun! We are excited to do even more hands-on learning in the new Creation Classroom.

We introduced computers in the late 90s! Here are some of the earliest ones.

Our music programs are always a blast! In 2012, we had this incredible interactive concert with steel drums and dancing!

Storytimes are not just listening to a book… from science to superheroes, they are all about learning and exploring!

Check out the full album on our Facebook page.

The Fairfield staff have been having a great time moving into the new building. This week they took over our Instagram account sharing photos of the move in process. Be sure to take a look!

We hope you can join us at the Grand Opening of the new Fairfield Area Library at 1401 N. Laburnum Avenue on October 6. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 2 pm, followed by the opening of the building. Check our new Fairfield Library page for more information.
