Career Conversations for Teens with Historic Richmond

If you’re a teen who enjoys history and the arts but aren’t sure about next steps after graduation, HCPL invites you to learn more about career opportunities in conservation and historic trades in a panel discussion with Historic Richmond. Read on to learn more about the panel and related titles from our collection.

As the world has recently seen, the restoration of historic landmarks —such as the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France— would not be possible without the specialized skills and knowledge of artisans and preservationists. It is because of them that tourists from across the globe can continue to view the Cathedral as attendees did more than eight hundred years ago. And while the architecture of the Richmond region is not nearly as old, we are still fortunate to be surrounded by evidence of unique history. Though the city and region will continue to grow and evolve, it is important to also preserve the neighborhoods and buildings that tell the story of our past. Learn more about what this type of work entails in our upcoming panel discussions with Historic Richmond:
