We are excited to announce our 2022 Summer Reading Challenge: Oceans of Possibilities! In this year’s challenge, readers of all ages can explore the library’s collection, attend programs, submit written reviews, and participate in other activities to earn badges and prizes. Read on to learn more about how to participate.
READ BOOKS, DO ACTIVITIES, AND EARN PRIZES!
Sign up in person or online through Beanstack and be sure to stop by your local library to pick up your Summer Reading log, colorable bookmark, and sign-up prize of a beach ball (kids), a reusable water bottle (teens), or a beach bag (adults). Once you have logged at least one book, review, or activity, you will be automatically entered into our weekly $25 gift card drawings. These will take place on Fridays from June 24–August 12 and will feature local and major retailers.
Earn a free book when you reach 10 badges. Badges can be earned by:
- Reading books
- Writing book reviews
- Completing fun literacy activities
The more books you read and activities you participate in this summer, the more prizes you will be eligible to win. As you reach milestones along the way, you will earn tickets that can be used to enter various grand prize drawings. Winners will be announced on August 16th. Grand prizes include:
- Nintendo Switch & Nintendo Switch Sports
- YETI Hopper Flip 18 Soft Cooler
- Children’s Museum of Richmond Family Membership
- Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden Family Membership
- Science Museum of Virginia Family Membership
To learn about additional fun drawings, and if you need help getting started, call or visit your local library!
